No, a virus on a virtual machine does not harm the actual PC. A virtual machine operates in an isolated environment, separate from the host operating system. This means that any virus or malware that infects the virtual machine will not be able to spread to the actual PC. However, it is still important to regularly update and maintain the security of both the virtual machine and the host operating system to prevent any potential security breaches. **

Yes, viruses from a virtual machine on a Windows 8 computer can potentially infect the actual computer. While virtual machines are isolated from the host operating system, there are still ways for viruses to escape the virtual environment and infect the host system. For example, if the virtual machine has shared folders or network access with the host system, a virus could potentially spread to the host. It's important to use proper security measures and keep both the virtual machine and the host system protected with up-to-date antivirus software to minimize the risk of infection. **
